Gear Ratio???

Im trying to figure out what size gears my 2001 Silverado Z71 has. The owners manual says I could have either 3.73's or 4.10's. I looked all over the rear housing I couldn't find anything. Anyone know how to figure this out? I bought the truck used so I'm not sure what options it came with. It does have the GM trailer hitch and a trailer brake set up. I'm getting my Pro Comp 6 inch suspension lift with BFG 315/75R-16's installed next week and was told by 4 wheel Parts that my stock gear ratio would be fine. Anyone with this set up have any opinions?

Thanks.

I figured it out...3.73's. I guess I'll just suffer for a while until I can get some cash flow together for a 4.56 upgrade.

two ways to figure it out. The easiest way but not the most accurate is to place a mark on either rear tire, and a mark on the drive shaft, then turn the driveshaft counting turns until tire makes one complete rotation. 2nd, not so much as difficult but messy, is to remove the diff cover and count the number of teeth on both the ring and pinion then divide the number from the ring gear by the number from the pinion gear. Unless you're math skills are rusty this is pretty much error free
