Tire Pressure?

I just bought an 05 2500 HD, ext. cab., 4X4, std. box. It came with Bridgestone LT245/75R16E tires. The sticker on the door says 55 lbs front and 80 lbs. rear. What pressures do you folks that have similiar trucks run for pressures??

I hardly ever haul anything, but I do pull a 3800 lbs boat once or twice a week.

Thanks!!

Joe

Well it depends on the tire....I run whatever it says on the tire for my commuter vehicle, and for my truck, well, I run boggers so no more than 20 lbs. My work truck, street tires, towing all the time...about 50 lbs all around.

I would stick with what the manufacturer listed on the panel and/or owners manual. That's the pressure front and rear for what you truck is rated to do. (tow, haul, etc.) Don't just inflate to the pressure listed on the tire itself. This is the max p.s.i. for the tire, but since it is used in numerous different vehicle applications it is different for each vehicle type. That size tire could probably be found on a 1/2 ton chev and require diferent pressure than your 3/4. 55/80 front to rear sounds about right to me.
