93 2500 has me baffled

It statred yesterday when I stopped at a light. i sat for a while and out of the blue the motor died. It wouldnt start back up until I gave it some fuel while cranking it. It started up and blew a little smoke. off I went. Got home and it did it again only wouldnt stay running for long without loading up. I checked fuel pressure and it was on the low side so I installed a new pump after making sure the filter was clean. It started right up and ran fine... For about 5 minutes and started the erratic idle and died again. I got it atarted back up and it idles fine for a while and then it dropped to about 300 rpms and suddenly jumps to 1100 and stays there. If I hit the gas pedal it acts like it is flooding out and flutters up, or dies. Any thoughts?

Well like steved said in another thread, could be a cracked fuel line...? Maybe a busted vacuum line....

Good luck!!

Coolant temp sensor turnewd out to be the culprit. It tested bad after all the other electronics tested fine. R&R and it seems to be fine now.
