| Measuring Driveshaft Another question. I was wonderin if someone coudl give me a good clear explanation on how to measure a driveshaft. First of all mine came with a two piece, and I know I'm not going to use that with all this power, and second, it doesnt fit into the transmission anyway, its too short. I know of the place to go to around here, but I was just wondering how to measure it. I'm sure they could tell me but just to save a trip, I was wonderin if someone could tell me. I talked to a guy with my same swap at a car show tonite but I'm not sure if i got it for sure. Do you just measure from the end of the tailshaft of the tranny to right where ti goes into the rearend or what? Thanks. |

| the best way i can say to di it would be to take the slip yoke off of the driveshaft (the piece that slides into the transmission) and slide it into the tranny where it looks like it would normally ride. do not push it all the way in cause you have to compensate for suspension movement. you should be able to tell from the shine on it where it has been rubbing on the seal in the tailshaft. then measure from the center of the u-joint loop on the slipyoke the the center of the u-joint loop on the the yoke on the differential.

| Aright thanks alot, thats pretty much what I thought, but I wasnt for sure. The guy at the car show told me to take a little off for movement so it looks like I've got it clear now. I'll have them make me my one piece, and I will tell you guys how it goes. Thanks. |
