Even though Chevy and GMC are the same truck, I would have to agree with tommy on this one, the GMC's do look meaner... But over all, Gm out ranks Ford left and right, not just with trucks either.

check the news, the big three are not all american. you are right although about the ford and chevy being great. chevy gets me and my family from place to place and ford keeps us mechanics wallets full of money.

Diddo, besides if it weren't for the FORDS chevy wouldn't have a benchmark for how NOT to build a truck! lol.

Thumbs up back to the fold

I just bought a Silverado after 5 years in an Econoline 150. I must say it is great to be back. The Ford was ok and all trucks have their flaws. However, Chevy, as with most GM products, still gives owners the most bang for their automotive buck. The starting price on a flat pack Silverado is in the 16K range. You'll be over 20K starting on most flat pack F150s with less engine, towing capacity, and fuel economy. Some might say you get what you pay for but look at the Corvette. 65K gets you more performance, more car, more features, more efficiency & comfort than you can get in a 170K Porsche or Lambo. It is the "trailer trash" of the performance world becuase the slightly above average Joe can get one and that drives the Euro snobs berserk. Chevy does the same thing in the truck world and the guys who pay 5 or 10 grand more for a Ford or Dodge justifiably get steamed about it sometimes.

I cant believe you guys are still arguing this. I am an ag student, and here arguments about brands all the time. I hear people arguing ford vs. chevy, its just like the folks arguing green vs. red, and to me its the same as arguing chocolate pudding vs. vanilla. No on will ever win any of these arguments, so why bother . . .

okay, that may be true, but where is the fun in that? If people shouldn't argue their opinion just because there really isn't an end or even a solution, then why have an opinion? Besides, this way we can see who really knows what they are talking about and not just the people who pick sides for the sake of an argument. I mean, maybe ford is better then chevy in some areas and chevy over ford in others, some tried to include dodge here, but the truth is preference. Someone one day owned a ford and it died young then bought a chevy and it ran forever, truth is some vehicles are just lemons and others aren't. So the real issue was who here liked one over the other better? Not which one WAS better, and if you tally the comments here and the comments in the polls, i think Chevy won... but does that mean chevy is actually better then ford? now that is either a matter of opinion, a matter of fact, or simply proof of the more audible ones at this particular forum. But that is just my take on it.....
