| Hey, i drive a 99' chevy suburban, with the 5.7L - 350. i'm thinking about putting a new exhaust system on it (not standard muffler), i'm lookin for something with some noise on it. i dont want it to be just outrageously loud like straight pipes, but i dont want it to sound like a ski boat motor in water. i'm lookin for a nice, deep, but loud (enough to hear me comming, passing, and going), and mellow sound to it. also, do glasspacks of any type add HP or gas mileage? which exhaust system would be the best to employ, and what kind of HP and mileage would it add / subtract. |

| I want the same sound as you and the majority of people I have spoken to have recommended a Flowmaster 40. Im going to get the Delta series one though because supposedly its less drone in the cab.

| I'll say what I say every time. I LOVE the sound of my Flowmaster 40 series, and I can't stand glasspacks they sound too obnoxious. If you don't like the loudness of the 40 series you can get a Flowmaster Shush Power, still sounds great but just isn't as loud.

| i say go for a magnaflow muffler, i've got one on my silverado and it sounds killer, plus theres a lifetime warrenty unlike the flowmaster. i'm not slamming flowmaster in any way there nice pipes just use a baffel system where the magnaflow is more of a straight through with a lazy curve. |
