dual exhaust on a 97 chevy truck?

Hi everyone,
My dad wants a dual exhaust system on his truck. He has a 1997 chevy 1/2 ton, extended cab, long box, 2wd, 5.7L. We want to go from the cat-back. Whats on it now is dual pipes from the motor in to two converters then dual pipes into the muffler. Then a HUGE muffler and single pipe all the way back. Their is a bolted flange in between the converters and the muffler. We're hoping to find a system that will bolt onto that flange and run duals all the way out the back. So the muffler would have to be dual in and dual out. My question is does any body now of a company that makes this dual exhaust? By the way my dad wants something thats got a nice deep tone to it. Nothing like the old school glass packs but not stock either. Please help us find something.

exhaust ideas

hey, the best thing to do, would be to go to www.flowmastermufflers.com ..... then click on the linkl for mufflers, you can then hear a sample of all their mufflers, and you can see what type set ups they have, i'm sure they have a few like you're lookin for, with the single muffler, but dual pipes. i know the 50 series SUV has one like that, i'm sure they have a few others..... let me know what ya decide

You should try searching, there are like maybe 8 threads about exhaust on here and on all of them, Flowmasters are the #1 recommended You can make any exhaust duals....ya just gotta fab it up yourself or design it and have the shop fab it up. But yeah if you go to flowmastermufflers.com you can hear the different series sounds....but it's better to hear it for real. The 40 series is the most popular

my truck has the dual inlet single outlet OEM muffler on it and im gonna get the dual in dual out 40 series flowmaster and just have turn downs put on the outlets, i think it will sounds nice. they've gotta extend the original pipes to get it at least a foot behind the cab. i had a guy quote me $150 for the whole setup, Installed.

sounds pretty good, a friend of mine duals installed ( 2 single in/out flomasters) and ran all the way back, plus 2 tips and new pipe ( i think just from cat back) and work, all for $200. most places charge way too much for somethin that simple.

it doesnt sound right at all but i am curious about them because they come with the collector flange and turndown premade so there is no welding invovled. a bolt-on application.
