Motor Rebuild... Going bigger?? So, i've got a 95 Chevy Extended Cab Z71... 170K miles, new Jasper Rebuilt Tranny... My babby is getting a little weak, and i do alot of towing. I was thinking of rebuilding/building the motor. I was thinking about going .40 over with the rebuild. adding a cam, and new intake, and heads... anyone have a good combination they have tried? I'm looking for gettin my max horses by about 4K RPMs.. and of course as much torque as poosible at low RPMs. I would like to keep the stock computer (already have a chip), and TBI, but would go to after market on the TBI if i could find one... any input would be great...

Only bore it as much as needed for the rebuild. over boring only limites the life of the motor. It can only be bored out so much. My recommendation is a set of L31 vortec heads and a torgue producing cam. You will be amazed at what those heads will do ofr you with a good cam, and a matched exhaust.

I installed L31 heads on my S10 project with some light machine work on the intake and wow what a difference. It likes the spray too. I traded all my old 202 heads for as many L31 heads that I could find. Good advice
