| LS1 swap Has anyone swapped a LS1 with 4L60E for a 400 SBC/400TH in a 76 Cheyenne 4x4 or like vehicle? What will be my problem areas besides the harness? |

| Driveshaft lengths and linkage. Adapting the transmission to the transfer case if it is 4x4 (very expensive sometimes) , and alot of electrical. Why dont you just couple the LS1 to the th400. High perf engine with a bulletproof transmission. 4l60E would be your weak point.

| Well I lose the OD with the 400TH and the efficiency by not using the 4L60E. I thought the 60E would fit reasonably well but I guess not. And I'm reasonably sure you can beef the 60 up. But you're right. It is less headaches to leave it in there. |

| No dont get me wrong, The 4l60E can be built up, I just thought you might want to think about an easier less expensive route. But yes you loose haveing overdrive with the turbo 400. If you want to investigate trans to transfer case adapters check out advanced adapters as well as Novak website. Should give you some ideas on pricing and availibility
