| Time to pull the heads off and check the head gaskets. If no blown section found then have the heads magnafluxed. Should get a good idea of which head is the problem when you pull the heads off and inspect the cylinders

| Ok how do I go about pulling the heads I have never watched someone do it or have the slighits clue how you will have to walk me through this one. I'll try to find something online on how to do it. How long will it take? |

| Gp to your local parts store and purchase a chilton manual. It will walk you thru the whole process. Best way if you have never done it before.

| Great suggestion to get the Chilton book for your truck. Before you start taking your truck apart, make sure you have the proper tools (torque wrench is on the top of the list) and a ride to the parts store once you pull that head you are going to need head gaskets, intake gaskets (remember I am a ford person so that is what I am thinking of) and sealant, even if you don't find a problem, don't reuse the current gasket. The best thing to have is a buddy experienced in that. Also, I don't know if the manual tells you, but if you refilled your radiator, drain it first, then change your oil when are done. Oh, also instead of using a spray on gasket remover I prefer to use a razor blade to scape off any sealant stuck to the block, last thing I want is that chemical anywhere in my block. Good Luck

| ^^ thats good advice. i also use the gold spray on gasket sealer for head gaskets. Seems to work out well. this can be done without pulling the intake, But it is a PIA. Especielly when you truck is as simple as your is without a whole lot of electrinics, i suggest pulling the intake as well. If you do decide to do the work yourself let me know, i have a few tips that might help you out on reassembly. Good luck and drop in and let us know what you decide.

| No you are correct, but if you only need to pull one head, you remove the intake bolts on that side and pull all the head bolts. This is really usable on diesels where alot of injector components and such use the intake manifold . They can be really intimidating to a novice so it is easier to leave the intake in place. Not so much on the older chevy gas motors though. .. Oh i really dig the goofy goat pic too.
