| I've got a 85' Chevrolet Scottsdale Suburban 1500, 4x4, manual. A couple of months ago I replaced the seals in the stearing gear box(not a fun job).......only to have the thing keep leaking. Plan B. I replaced the whole thing with a salvage part off of a 87 4x4. No more leaks. Got the tires rotated, balanced and aligned.....and now the thing scares me to death because there's three inches of play in the steering. I've tightened the hex bolt on top as tight as it will go and I still look drunk while attempting to stay in a straight line. Any suggestions?

| time for a rebuilt steering box. If all the adjustment is adjusted out then worn gears are to blame.
