Power steering pump shafts keep shearing off

I have a 01' C3500 with a 8.1L and allison transmission. I am on my 3rd power steering pump in 4 months. The pulley shaft keeps shearing inside the pump. The pulley rides straight and belt tensioner was changed after the 2nd pump change. The pump starts squealling before it breaks but it's not your normal pump whine. The only time it squeals is after the truck has warmed up and during acceleration after a stop. I'm gonna flush out the power steering system again just in case there is some metal in there, but was wondering if the brakes could have anything to do with it. The pump also supplies pressure to the brake booster. Possibly some sort of backpressure after releasing the brake.

Yes the brakes work off the power steering pump. Sounbds like a relief valve is not working properly and shocking the system.
