| This truck is driving me crazy!!! About 85% of the time it stumbles, if I am slowly increasing speed it hesitates but if I get on it it does pretty good. Things done so far....Original motor rebuilt 10,000 miles ago(179,000 original on truck), replaced PCV valve, EGR valve and solenoid, Knock Sensor, Oxygen Sensor, MSD Distributor, MSD Cap, MSD Rotor, MSD Coil, MSD Wires, Plugs, Cat and exhaust, Fuel injectors, Fuel pump relay, Fuel Pump check out, TB was just rebuilt...I have replaced most ground cable and lugs with new and checked the rest for good connections. The last time the truck was in the shop the TB was re built and no codes were stored in the computer. I can here a surge of water rushing into the heater core so I had them run a preasure check.(held with no leaks for a few hours) Chevy says to loop the incoming water line to slow it down.(I have not done this yet) I have far too much time and $ to sell it now so I guess I am just looking for some more suggestions. Thanks in advance....Frustrated Bakatari oh yeah...fyi...this problem was there before the motor was rebuilt Last edited by Bakatari; 11-02-2005 at 12:32 PM. Reason: missing info |

| Sounds like a possible vacuum leak. Check with wd40 if you suspect anything, Other than that I would look at timing. Oh and welcome aboard.

| In your opinion is it fuel starved , or timing ?

| Fuel spray is in a consitent cone shape on both injectors. The timing feels off but adjusting it does not seem to take the problem away. As inconsistent as this problem is I was thinking that I had a short some place, or an ECM problem. I have been driving this truck for about 3 years now and the problem has been there since day 1 and does not seem to change much in intensity. |

| O.K. has the mototr ever been out of it? Has the distribuitor been worked on and had to be removed for any reason?

| The motor was out for the rebuild and I put an MSD distributor in about 6 months ago. |

| Did it do this prior to the MSD install.

| yes. I was able to duplicate something this weekend...the truck stumbles like it is going to die when sitting at a stop(in gear) not all the time but fairly often. I was sitting at a drive trough and turning a corner when I turned the steering wheel a bit it stumbled...I did this a half dozen times with the same results every time. I was not cranking the steering all the way to bottom it out but only about half way. Is it possible that the power steering pump is going out and this is causing all of my problems? |
