PROBLEM installing Stall Torque Converter

This is an 88 Chev. After installing a Stall Torque Converter (700R4 transmission 4L60), the converter locked up. We replaced the converter and the fatory said the original one checked out ok. If anyone has a solution or theory about why this converter is not working, please respond.
thanks....

you might have broken the pump when you installed the tranny.

That transmission guy dug up every transmission related thread available, regardless of age.
Suprised he did not try to peddle his shops stuff in this one.
Was difficult to keep up with current threads.
