| I Think It Is A Case Of Waiting To Long To Service. All Three Trucks Will Probably Be Needing Some Tranny Work Soon

| I think I agree with gmtech the most, but I like 50K better for all the reasons he stated. Unless towing or heavy duty, then by all means do it more often. Although trans fluid really does not break down, it does get diluted with friction disk (clutches) material, and aluminum from wear, and even bronze slivers from thrust washers and bushing wear. It only takes a tiny sliver to get into the valve body and hang a valve. Oh and for the Dodge fans, unless they have changed and I would think by now Dodge is smart enough, Dodge has or had adjustable bands that need to be adjusted as the bands wear. GM that I know of, has always been smart enough to use servos on the bands which never required adjusting. But of course I am old school back in the days of Turbo 400 and 350, Ford C4 and C6, and Dodge 904's and 727's. Built many of each in the day. Just don't be like most, when the tranny starts slipping at 120K, THEN get a service and expect it to fix the problem because it won't. At that point, all the build up of gunk has found a home in the trans, then you clean it out, all you have done is increased all your tolerances by removing the gunk build up and made it all looser then have even lower pressures to try and compress worn out clutch packs. Point is, if you do not have your trans serviced regularly, then don't do it at all and drive it till it quits and get it rebuilt. Probably not to late yet DChick if you are not having any symptoms. I'd get it done very soon though. |

| sounds like sticky valve in valve body or low pressure but since it is only 1 or 2 times a year try a fluid change and add some lucas hope this helps |
