| Carb suggestion? I'v got a 73 k-10 and I'v been having some issues with my carb, so I've decided to just replace it, can anyone give me some suggestions on a carb, keep in mind I want power not economy. |

| I seriously doubt you are turning 7,000 + rpms so i would suggest an edelbrock 600cfm. electric or manual choke up to you. Personal opinion Holleys are only good for the track and not a daily driver.

| I have a 86 pickup and i have gone through 2holleys now. 600cfm 4bbl electric chokes. Ive had my boss adjust by carbuerator and hes a genious at that and still cant get it tuned. Im on my second holley on that truck and its been 1200 miles. I have the new preset floats from the factory and it got stuck wide out somehow inside of the carb and shot gas 6inches above the carb. Personally i would go with a edlebrock, i have never had so many problems witha carb. A holley did the same thing on my nova too. They seem to me it preset floats are junk and loses it settings easily from off roading and such |

| While I have owned both (Edelbrock and Holley) and could give you horror stories on both, why are you ditching the Quadrajet? If you get a reputable rebuilder (hard to find, and yes I quit rebuilding them years ago) you could send it off. They can be tuned for decent (not good) gas mileage and still deliver a decent amount of power. I can see this thread getting long and ugly now (oh well). |

| Go holley, if they are tuned by a good carb guy they are usually almost completely problem free and are alot less expensive to dial in than a edelbrock.

| Have the factory carb rebuilt. The factory carbs are great once they are riched up alittle and adjusted properly. |

| Edelbrock 650cfm I've got a 76 K20 4x4 with a 454. I use the Edelbrock 650cfm with the old Torker 2-0 intake manifold... Works great for me... Gas milage sucks, but the torque is awesome! |
