Tire size

I have a '05 2500HD 4x4 that I've tweeked the torsion bars on so that the front and back-end are level. What I'm curious about now is what size tires can I fit in there?
I didn't want to go any larger than a 17'' rim but I've heard any where from 285s to 315s. I was just wondering what others had fit without any kind of a lift. Thanks!

I have 265-75-16's on mine and have a friend that has 285-75-16's on his.

Should be able to go with 305, but might have to trim the bumper valance corners.

Thanks for the info. I ended up going with a Nitto 295/75/16. I did have to do some trimming but managed to fit them in there. Thanks again.
