| If i were you I would buy an aftermarket cooler and do away with the one in the radiator all together. Not to expensive A good cooler will set you back about $100 bucks max

| Not a good idea to bypass and just use an aftermarket one since you are still suppose to run fluid through factory one and then through add on cooler. The factory cooler is a dul purpose unit because it cools the fluid but alos provides warm up to the transmission. The transmission likes to run at a steady constant temp. |

| I Concur With Gmtech The Transmission Should Not Run To Cool Typically The The Factory Cooler Will Run The Tranny 30 To 40 Degres Lower Than The Engine This Is Sufficient Under Normal Conditions. Definetly Add A Cooler For Hi Load Or Perfomance My Truck Is Set Up This Way And Stays Pretty Constant Even After Alot Of Hard Runs On A 100+ Day

| I dont know how much material is around the threads but you may be able to drill and tap to a slightly larger size and put in a reducer. Or depending on how stripped the threads are you may be able to use some kinda sealant on the threads like one of the 3M products. If the threads will hold but not seal you may be OK with a sealer if not try the tap and reducer. Good Luck |

| radiator repair shop may be able to replace the fitting after removal of the tank on that end. I purchased a new hd radiator today from advanced auto parts for 300 bucks due to cracked plastic tank. |
