| Thanks for all the advise guys. I pulled the trailer out on Friday to get an updated weight (it is a 35 foot Haulmark with extra height). Came in at just over 13,000 lbs with 2 cars in the trailer, tools, generator etc. I had 1250 lbs tongue weight but have added a braced class 5 hitch with bars so not a problem for the weight. Truck pulled ok in both OD and 3rd on the flat, but just felt better keeping it in third. The truck stayed flat and handled great. I know a 5th wheel would be better but tow behind a an old greyound bus when we go long distance so have to stay with a rear tow. Great forum, thanks for helping a new guy out. |
