Info for everyone with accel problems

There seems to be an epidemic of acceleration problems with the vortec 5.7s. If your truck is experiencing acceleration problems and your check engine light is on and you have had the crank sensor and the cam sensor and the O2 sensors checked or replaced and you are still having issues have the gear on the ditributor checked apparently this is becoming an issue with later vortec 5.7s (the dealers always have them in stock wonder why) the gear can wear causing advance and retard issues with the timing it is easy to check and fix unfortunately it is not something that most mechanics check till they go through replacing everything else first. If your getting a p1345 cam crank correlation issue have them check the gear($16) before replacing the cam and crank sensors($155) or god forbid a hack tells you your timing chain and gears are shot( all possibilities for the code)
