oil leak

i got a 92 chevy 305 engine. it is leaking oil from somewhere around the oil filter. it isnt leaking from the filter, and around the engine block at that point is real dirty so its hard to tell where exactly it is coming from. i beleive its a remote filter and maybe its coming from a gasket between that and the engine block, but im not sure. any ideas on where this leak may be coming from would be greatly appreciated. thanx

That bolt on boss the filter screws on to are notorious for leaks, Give it a good cleaning and verify its source.

it looks like its coming out of the top of the bolt on boss. maybe a gasket there? i called autozone to price parts out, and they said they didnt carry any of those parts, is that something i have to go through chevy for?

does anyone have any idea where to get this gasket? i cant find it at autozone or napa.... I'm assuming theres a gasket there, but nowhere carries it. would it be best to make my own gasket, cause i know somebody who can do that?

GO buy some gasket paper and you can cut your own i do it for 90% of my gaskets unless its a head gasket or something like that. i will go and buy. it aint hard to cut your own.

just get whatever you putting it on and put it on the paper outline it and cut it out.
