i got a 93 with 175K on it and the only probs have been typical replacements like gaskets and hoses that rotted through. my original water pump just blew at like 170k, which on my old mustang it blew w/ about 40K on it. the mustang looked sharp, but i had nothing but probs with it.... i bought a older chevy pickup that runs a lot stronger and has less problems, thus now i am a chevy guy through and through.

brother your talkin to a chevy lover! My truck has 156k on it and its an 86. She still drives like a dream, all i've replaced was the power steering pump, ign. module, and gaskets in the rear end. I mean i did a minute long powerbrake in it with practically NO fluid in the rear end and she's driving quieter than ever *knock* on wood lol

i've gotta 99, 5.7L 350, replaced the water pump twice, one power steering pump hose, and a quick-disconnect fitting going into the somewhere (sry i dont remember where) from a water line broke, and that caused my engine to overheat, forcing a valve to sieze and be slapped by a piston. the seizure of the valve was my fault (drove it hot). so really, nuthin too serious, i think it's a great engine. o, the AC went out, and several other ppl i know that have the same engine and what not have had AC problems.

yeah, on my 92, my AC is the only thing that doesnt work, but id rather drive around with my windows down, plus i live in New England, its usually cold or raining or snowing, so not a big loss for me

I had a '97. Also replaced the fuel pump. I think that went out at about 90,000. Shortly there after the radaitor seperated inside allowing the tranny fluid and coolant to mix. Shortly there after I had a tranny rebuild. Shortly after that I had another tranny rebuild. Shortly there after I got me a '2000 Silverado. That '97 was almost enough to make me buy a Ford or Dodge.

stelmadl will become famous soon enough
I'm the original owner of a 98 K2500, 454, that has 101,000 miles. I haven't too much (major) issues with it. I've had the intake gasket, water pump, battery, wiper motor, starter, and brakes replaced, along with the manufacture's tune up last month....fluids, spark plugs, wires, etc. I'm low on coolant again which makes me wonder if another intake gasket is going bad again. I've heard that these vortec engines are like clock work when it comes to these things....every 50,000 miles. I do get alot of comments, though......it's black and shines like it came off the showroom floor.
