a knocking noise from the frontend

when i was driving down the highway a knock started coming from the front end. when i stopped i found out the knock only occured when i had the pickup in gear and was accelerating. i took the valve covers off to check the lifters and springs, and to see if any of the valves were stuck. everything was working properly, so i checked the u-joints and they were fine. everyone that has looked at it is as confused as i am, cause the knock doesn't really sound like it's in the engine and we can't figure out were it is coming from.

so any info would be appreciated

if it sounds like its coming from the engine, check the oil pressure and how much oil is in your engine. i had something wrong like that and it was that i was losing oil pressure when i was accelerating and it caused one of my rocker arms to stick.
or maybe that piston slap we were talking about a few days ago????

your just gonna have to try some different approaches to eliminate things. it is hard for me to find a knock from my keyboard if you cannot find it when driving it. You need to see if it increases with rpm, See it gear selecvtion makes a difference, Turning and so forth.
