| '01 Silverado - Power Steering Problem Hi Everyone, I am new to this forum and would like to share a problem that I just started having with my 2001 Silverado with 39,000 miles. All of a sudden the power steering stopped working. Was working fine the last time it was run (about 3 hours prior). I checked the fluid level and it is OK. I cannot detect any odd noise coming from the pump. Could the pump have gone bad or could it be something else? Thanks, |

| Most likely the power steering pump shaft broke. If you remove the serp belt you will be able to pull the power steering pulley and it will come out of the pump with part of the shaft attached to the pulley. It is a common concern and have had some recalls on some of the chevy vehicles. |
