What kind of gas milage are we talking about? Below 10 mpg? Have you cleaned the air filter? Have you been towing anything or been running your engine hard, wheelin' or anything? My fuel guage moves around, but very slowly and almost hard to tell. How dramatically does yours move? Chevyguy will be able to help you out on this one.

You might need to put that air filter back on thats one of your problems. Now what kind of engine do you have and what gears do you have in the truck. Plus you might want to buy some kind of fuel conditioner. I use fuel conditioner in my truck and i slowly get better gas milage every tank. You need to let us know better spects of your truck to better answer your question.

Sorry , but i dont believe in mechanic in a can remedies. It might help in prevention, but thet problem already exists. i would start by asking about gears, oversized tires, driving habits etc.

You deffinately need to put the air filter back on, you never run any engine without an air filter, It will end up ruining your engine without one on it. You will be sucking in all kinds of dust and dirt that will wear your engine out. Bad idea to not use an air filter.

With that year of truck, with a 350 and the size tires you have on it, I would'nt doubt it abit if you are getting gas milage under 10 mpg.

My dad had a chevy truck with a 350 in it, of course it was a 79 and carburated, but i know he was getting 5 or 6 mile per gallon city, I dont know what highway was but thats all he could get out of it. The little newer model you have with fuel injection should increase the milage some but with bigger tires and if you are running it hard forget it, your gas milage in that case is probably about right.

diffrent view

hi well for one Truck_man is right about the aircleaner but you should be getting at least 12mpg i get 13/14 and i drive tough, fast and hard daily anyway i would recomend getting a power programer because they can troubleshoot too check you fuel/air mixture and timeing my 89 chevy has 265/75/16s and 342 gears with a 350ci bored 40 over i also run a k&n tornado and tbi spacer 8.5mm wires platinum +4 plugs and a high flow oil pump. well thats just my opinion.
