serpentine belt

when taking off the serpentine belt, do i colmpletely take off the tensionizer, because i loosesned it and the tension is releasing

how did you loosen it? Did you loosen the bolts? All you have to do is take a 1/2 drive ratchet and place in the square slot in the end of the tensioner and push/pull (can't remember if you push down or pull up)the ratchet then slip the belt off of any pulley. Hope this makes sence.

the tensioner is spring loaded all you half to do is put a socket on the pully side and take the load off the belt and take off or put on your belt
