| Fuel Mileage I've got a '93 k1500 z71 that I'm going to put some 35 12.50 15's on. I was wondering if somone could tell me from expierence what kind of gas mileage to expect? I'm getting about 14mpg now with 275/70/16's on it. What kind of loss should I expect? I average between 1200 and 1500 miles a month so I'm just trying to get an idea of what I'm going to spend in gas money. Thanks, Bryan |

| I wouldn't expect much of a change....maybe 1 mpg. If you don't convert the miles due to the larger tires (in other words, your mileage on your odometer will show less because your circumference of the tire is larger) you'll see your calculations for mpg to be worse....even though they are not. I think your truck came with 265 wide tires from the factory. The speedometer/ odometer is programmed to these tires. This is assumed that you don't change your rear end gears of course and drive the same way, too. Last edited by stelmadl; 02-06-2006 at 08:00 PM. |
