| Go with the supercharger. Here's why: Superchargers start working at idle, and Turbochargers kick in at a preset RPM (above idle) causing lag time. Good luck. |

| Both options will give you more HP and torque. Aws others have said, the turbos will have some lag. How well the system is designed and how large the turbo is wil determine how much lag you have. Personally, I prefer the centrifugal superchargers, like Vortech, Paxton, etc. than the Kenne Bell units. The Vortechs can be set-up with an intercooler system that really works, which can provide more HP than the Kenne Bell unit can. With any forced induction modification, you need to be careful about the engine's bottom end. The best way is to swap to forged components (crank, pistons, rods) and upgrade the rod bolts. You may also want to upgrade the main bearing housings too (like to a 4-bolt if you have a 2-bolt now). You can "get by" with factory components, but you need to keep the boost low/reasonable for your engine. You'll also need to run a higher Octane fuel than you need to now. |
