fuel pump

well my truck just came to a stop checked the fuel press. and there was none .. towed to a shop and dropped the tank ..good thing i keep it sprayed with rust control wow easy to do dropped the tank replaced the pump put the tank back up in place had the truck back running in 45 min.
It had just turned 200,000 2 weeks ago i hope it will last another 200,00
that pump cost $500.00 buck my cost and the shop was free thank god.

just for future reference, theres a trick to those fuel pumps when they go out, before you tow it to a shop next time, try hittin the bottom of the gas tank where the fuel pumps at and it usually gets 'em workin temporarily til you can get it somewhere to change it.

Glad to hear you got it back up. i usually go the other way and remove the bed instead of dropping the tank. Dont beat on your tank though.

I agree with chevyguy. With a shortbed 2 people can usually lift it up and slide it back a few feet to access the tank. Done it probably 4 times on my bro's 96.
