Trans swap

I have an 86 Chev 2WD half ton,305 with an overdrive,the tranny is burnt does anyone know if a turbo 350 from same era of truck will bolt in where the 700 R4 was without any major remodifications?

flywheel and torque converter will more than likely be different so you'll have to change 'em but other than that, run a vaccuum line down to the modulator and hook the kickdown up and you're set. shift linkage should interswap pretty easily and wiring in your reverse lights should be simple. make sure to get the right length tranny (short tail or long tail) also.

Check length also. There are long shaft and short shaft transmissions out there.
