85 silverado clicking when key turned!!

I just installed a elect fuel pump and have been driving the truck for 3 days no problems.The truck sat for one month prior. I t started the first time i connected the battery like a charm.This morning at the gas station after getting gas all i got was a clicking.A guy gave me a jump and it started right up.I drove home resarted it and no start and click click...the volatage gage was down both times also. wen up when i got the jump.

Sounds like a bad battery, or weak charging system. After you get it started take a reading with a voltage meter at the battery. Should be high12-low 13 volts, If not then charging system isnt working, Another way to check is to get it atarted and disconnect the negative battery cable while its running. If it dies, them its time to replace tha alternator.

if it's been a cold winter where your at, it could've killed you battery, the cold will get it every time. but, also check what CG said, that was my other idea / thought

thanks guys took the alt. to auto zone to be tested and its dead.I had my friend jump me and i disconnected the neg. term. to the battery and the engine died off instantly.
