| Newbe Hello, I just joined and have a question. My '97 suburban feels like the power steering slips occasionally when driving. I thought it would be the power steering pump but that did not fix the problem. What else could it be? |

| Howdy and Welcome. If I remember correctly there is a sensor for the powersteering also that might be the culprit. Can't remember. Sorry

| I was wondering if was that, an inline filter, or from the steering gears itself. Thanks for the help. |

| No filter, gearboxes dont slip unless ther are completely bad. i would look at the pulley and the belt to start with. Might get more help in the chevy section though. Anyhow welcome

| I replaced the serpentine belt about 6 months ago and after replacing the power steering pump, the pully is on very tight. I know there is a sensor that is screwed into the pump and am curious if that could be the culprit. Thanks for the info. |
