Power steering problems

I have a '97 suburban and the power steering slips once in a while when driving. I have replaced the power steering pump and it still does it. I am wondering if it could be the sensor that screws into the back of the pump?
Troubled?????

Is it more just a strange loss of power feeling when taking like an off ramp or slow lang change? If so its the steering wheel position/speed sensor mounted on the base of the steering colum. Its pretty easy to replace and i would guess less than 100.00 for the part. I used to do alot of them in the shop but have not done many lately.

Yeah that is what it feels like. I have bought the steering sensor and will replace it today. Will let you know if it fixes it. Thanks for the help.

i have a similiar problem with my 97 sierra. It takes a little extra effort to keep it straight going down the road. dealership wants 300+ for new gear box but i don't think that is what it is. it only happens once n' while like you said. sensor makes more sense to me.
