Hi Everyone!

My son is the owner of a 2003 Chevy Silverado Truck 4.8. He is in training with the Marines in Camp Pendleton and I am trying to get some info for him. So if anyone can help me out with a problem that he is having with his truck we would appreciate it very much. So here goes....every time he comes to a stop the truck dies....it does start up again. He has checked the fuel filter and what he could. He did have some one check it on the diagnostic and nothing came up. So if anyone has an idea of what it could be....please let me know. I will see him again this weekend. Thanks again for any help!

I merged your two threads..

Does it surge before it dies? Is it a quick death?

Does it stay running, without help, after the restart? Any other problems?....such as shifting harshly? Sometimes a Throttle Position Sensor will cause rough running when coming down from higher speeds, but normally doesn't cause too much trouble coming to a stop from lower speeds. It's still worth looking into. I'm not sure how much they are on your model, but my '94 needed one several years ago. It was $35. I put it on myself. Good luck.

After reading this I'm beginning to wonder if the Crankshaft Position Sensor is acting up (if it has one). My girlfriends Blazer is doing somewhat the same thing, and I was told by my uncle that that was probably the problem but haven't tried it yet.
