1988 chevy 2500 4x4 pick-up

I have a 1988 chevy pick-up which I recently bought , well it needed a trans and had a 700r4 PUT IN IT . Now the trans is shifting perfct but the truck seems slugish compared to my other which is the same but its a 1500.... the 2500 was also recently tuned... the truck does need a manifold gasket, will this effect it?

Hi,

Are the gears any different than the ones in your other truck? I could be because the 2500 is heavier built, maybe. The manifold gasket shouldn't have much to do with it performance wise but it does make a horribly annoying noise, as you probably already know.

I dont know what the gears ares, where do i look?

I'm not 100% sure on those trucks. I think there is a tab or sticker in the glove compartment that has a few 3 digit codes or something like that not sure exactly. If you can find them post them and maybe someone on here can decode them for you.
