Help Power steering leak

Ok I have a 85 C 30 that has been looseing powersteering fluid. There is fluid all over the driver side inner fender. I think the leak is coming from this part, but not sure. I have attached a picture of the part. It seems to only really leak when the wheel are turn hard. Could someone please help ID this part and tell me if it is a expensive repair and how hard to repair is it. Is it something a normal guy can do or does a repair shop have to do the work.

The part that leaks is the part in the center of the pic. It has a rubber gasket there that is cracked.

if you are not sure where it is coming from exactly, get someone to turn the wheel for you while you take a gander under the hood. most of the time, it is the high pressure line that leaks like a busted sieve

it looks like your steering shaft, no fluid there. clean the surrounding area with degreaser and see were the leak is. most likely going to be a worn line near a connection. make sure the steering fluid isn't overfull.

Ok I found where the leak is. It is in the high pressure line that runs from the steer gearbox to the hydro booster. The hose is clamped onto a steel hose and I am not sure how to replace. I ordered a highpressure hose from autozone and hope it is the same thing. How do I replace it? Do I just lossen the nuts at each end of the line and put the new one on. Also Do I bleed it? If so how.

just take a good wrench and take it off. i have never bled that line, just make sure that you finish refilling the pump after you have cranked your engine and filled the lines.

ill tell you a secret about those lines too, if the break is at the end of the line or at the connection, take the hose to a hydrulic shop and have them repair it, i have gotten lines repaired for half the cost of a new line.

to bleed the lines just turn the wheel lock to lock to get all the air out then refill the pump to the correct level.

I recommend using a line wrench for removal. They are flared specifically for lines.

^^^^ agreed, you don't want to strip a nut on any kind of hose fitting.
