| A tree crushed the cab on my 1980 crew cab ramp truck. The frame and ramp portion of the truck are OK. Does anyone know if I can remove the cab and replace it with a 89 GMC crew cab? Do they have the same mounting points on the frame? Any help would be appreciated. |

| 1980 and 1989 are not quite the same.I am sure if you have any fabricating skills it can be done but also keep in mind you have a carbed motor in the 80 and F.I. motor in the 89.Alot of wiring woes there to consider, might be better off finding the proper cab |

As for the wiring going from F.I. to carb is really simple

| If you are talking about a 1/2 ton cab then they are differant. 1 tons stayed the same thru 1989

| yeah 93 i think is the latest ive seen the older style before....i think it was the 80-92 but overlapped with the 88-00 which overlapped 99-02.......chevys tend to overlap, the CK keeps the older style at first and the Silverado takes the newer.....just a small trend ive noticed |

| 1973-1987 in half ton and 1973-1991 in 1 ton Same body style. Chevrolet completely change all body styles in 1991, 1988 and 2000 have absolutely nothing in common.
