| i have a 88 k1500 383. The odometer and the trip odometer(or whatever it is called) doesn't work. Does anyone know how to fix this. |

| sounds like you have a broken or disconnected cable. not sure exactly were it connects to the drive train though.

| Should be a speed sensor (no cable). I would check the wires and more than likely replace the speed sensor.

| This is a 1988, Oh ya know I should have specified as to wether it is a 1/2 ton or 1 ton. the big 1 ton is the older body style. John is correct if it is 1/2 or 3/4 ton

| on transmission towards the end where the drive shaft slides/bolts the the tranny.
