1995 K1500 light throttle mis

Hello,

I have a 1995 K1500 truck with a 350 TBI, and need some advice. The problem is at light throttle it misses, and slow steady speed cursing it misses (surges), slight miss at idle also. When towing it is real noticeable. But if I apply more throttle it clears up and runs great (plenty of power). My gas mileage has gone to sh!t also.

The following has been changed in the last month.
Spark Plugs (Autolite)
Cap and Rotor
Sparkplug wires
Fuel Filter
Air Filter
PCV valve

I cleaned the EGR valve and IAC. The last 4 tanks of gas I added fuel injection cleaner.

Scanned the computer, no codes, and everything was within spec. I have not checked the fuel pressure yet mainly because under heavy throttle it runs great.

Thanks

Sounds like a timing issue. especially while towing you want to retard it just a bit. as for how to do that on these new trucks I'm clueless. I say drop a older 350 in there and screw the computer lol

I suspect timing or poor fuel pressure/delivery. Stab in the dark here?, Are you loosing any antifreeze that you have noticed?

No coolant loss, and compression is good in all cylinders.

i dont think it will explain the throttle miss unless its super hooped, but o2 sensors can cause sucky gas milage and not throw a code.

this may sound dumb, but check all the spark plugs, i mean pull them off. about a month ago i had a miss and went for plugs wires rotor and cap.....i wasnt sure where the miss was but it turned out to be in cyl. no. 6. i pulled the plug wire off and it felt a little heavy, and so i ignored that and pulled the spark plug. the problem was the spark plug ceramic and metal cracked straight through about 1/2 inch above the bolt portion. so it depending on how the wire moved around the pug sometimes worked and others didnt.

Like you said it clears up when adding gas, yep same happened for me, and as for mileage yeah i lost over 2 mpg when that happened.

I still can't figure this out. Changed the Plugs, and O2 sensor again and still no luck.
