 | 97 silverado 4wd engine dies when put in park Hi Everyone. A friend of mine has 97 silverado 4 wd 350ci. Sometime when he puts it in park the engine dies. he had it at the service department and they could not finc anything wrong and my other friend put it on the computer and it all the specs are good. I asked him if maybe a swith is going bad on the tranny. I told him I would ask the experts and that is you guys. |

 | Sounds like a short in the ignition system that is related to the steering column.
