Chevy Silverado 3/4 Ton

Hello all, i currently drive a 2000 chevy silverado 3/4 ton truck. It has the 5.7L motor in it and i usually get around 13 mpg on a really good day maybe even 14. i was wondering if there are any good ways to increase the fuel econemy on it. I've already tried one of those engine program changers which didn't really help, i've also installed an aftermarker air box and filter which didn't help much either. any ideas would be greatly appreciated

get a different ride?? 3/4 tons are designed to be heavier application trucks and with that fuel mileage goes out the window. alot of what will help is driving habits.

Put an egg between your foot and the go pedal.

keep it under 50 mph so the revs stay low. HA, I am in the same boat with my 98 k2500, get a second or 3rd or so vehicle that gets better mileage and put most of your mileage on that.
