gas mileage????

hey if anyone has a 1990-1995 C3500 with a 454 what sort of mileage do you get according the what your driving is and say that too...i get between 10-11 if im being lead footed and 12-13 if im being relaxed in driving. Also what sort of items boost mileage? are throttle body spacers good? also any idea how much it would help for me build my own custom hood i have designed that would allow about an opening of 100 square inches for air to flow over the engine and into a wide open filter i intend to make?

i think he forgot to turn it on.

thats not bad considering trucks with smaller engines get about 15 to 18 mpg.

i have always been fond of throttle body spacers. all my friend will use is ones he makes from wood. as for some kind of air intake or cowl induction on a hood, i dont think that will help what you call bad gas mileage. it will however make your engine run a tad bit cooler than it will normally run. best thing you can do is to keep the injectors and the trottle body clean and clear.

i'm gettin like 13 in my 350 suburban, and that aint bein too awfully heavy on the throttle, i'm amazed that your gettin that kinda mileage

well i drive almost only on highwaysm like over 95% of my drive is highway so thats a big help. i got a little more mileage when i pulled off the stock airbox POS, and have cat back exhaust so i have some tad bit of help.
