I want to know how I can get my headlights to stay off when I want them to. They come on automatically and stay on. I cant get them to go off.

depress your e-brake pedal just a little bit. you should hear a click somewhere and kinda feel it catch. this will keep the lights from always being on, u have to turn them on yourself. just make sure you dont push too far and engage the e-brake

Not so sure that works for the 99-02 G.M. vehicles. Plus, you would have to live with the brake light on all the time. I have a 2000 silverado, and I have to depress the overide button two to three times evey time I start the truck. The DRL's then turn off, but resets itself every time I start the truck again. I have gotten used to it, and my lights are off when I drive.

it is to the person behind you, the brake light was designed to let others know that you are preparing to stop.

no no no, we dont mean the actaully brake lights on the vehicle. we're talkin bout the light on the dash that tells you your e-brake is on.
