Stumped on exhaust Alright i have searched the forums and the websites and can not find an adequate answer for my questions. 1. Have anot of you used Edelbrock TES headers, and if so were they worth it. these would go onto a 1995 454 in a one-ton truck. Or other Headers? 2. IS it POSSIBLE with not a huge drop of money to get a true dual exhaust systyem built for the truck, (1995 C3500 EXT. Cab.), and if it can be i currentyl do not have a spare tire and is that a good area for a equalizer kit? 3. Any further advice on this is appreciated. Yes I have gone down under the truck and looked at it, and being i lack experience in the area of exhaust i need advice, i have the large fuel tank and there is maybe say 4 inches between the heatshield on the tank and the driveshaft. i have no problem with exhaust by the shaft but the exhaust pip right by the tank bothers me. i know moving a fuel tank takes a good deal of work or money. Thanks

| they usually run both pies side by side down the passenger side. Headers im not sure of. Personally I always liked hooker. I'd say for a few hundred an exhaust shop could hook you up with a new system, unless you need cats. High flow cats arn't super expensive but they aren't exactly cheap either. As for equalizer i'm assuming that you mean somthing along the lines of an h-pipe. For that the closer to the motor the better you'll be as it is meant to equalize back pressure. Hope this helps

1. Any header with a thick enough flange that does not leak, will out flow stock manifolds 2. Dual exhaust will roughly double your expense, due to the requirement of twice the components, cats mufflers etc. 2 (a) An equalizer should be installed right after the collectors, not at the tail end of the system. The earlier you can balance the pulse profiles, the better the flow quality (and sound). 3. If you build a quality single system, you can achieve everything you could ask from a dual system. If you are looking for dual tailpipes, you can purchase a single in muffler, with dual out. This will give you the "look" and sound without the hassle, or expense of a true dual system. That dually will really sound good too. Btw, you really don't wanna move that tank, lines and sending unit, is a real pain in the a$$.

About a year ago I put edelbrock tes headers, a high-flow cat and edelbrock cat back on my 88 K1500 350. I love it! The power, the nice rumble when you step on it, oh its great. I have since swapped out my 350 for a 383 and it sounds even better. I would recommend edelbrock to you and to every one else out there. And if I ever get a new exhaust system for any vehicle of mine it will be edelbrock.

thanks for the input, specially about the TES headers, since they are one of the few that actually have a set MADE for 1995 454s that got my attention, alsot thansk for the single versus dual, i understand the cost jump and wasnt sure if it was worth it a guy at work was all over true dual, but i think ill opt for the edelbrock TES sinc ehtye have a y pipe with a hole already for the sensor. After that i think for a muffler ill go with a flowmaster 40 series, unless you guys know of a mufffler thats even louder, BUT has tone i have a 60 series on now and its too quiet for my tastes.
