New Exhaust Idea for my truck

I've got 96 chevy truck, 350/auto, dual exhaust into the muffler with single outlet factory setup. muffler shop told me i could run true duals, which im gonna buy 2 cherry bombs with rear-corner exit 4" tips that i already have layin around. i saw a truck setup with a single cherry bomb and 2 tips goin out the back and i thought it sounded pretty cool, it was on a 97-98 with a 305. anyway just wantin to check with all the tech-guys on here and cover my bases before i commit. i know the first comment will be "run flowmasters" but im on a small pocket book right now and i did like the way the other truck i heard sounded so i'll probably just go with the c-bombs for now but wouldnt take anything to stick some 40's in there later on down the road.

not much for the cherry bomb. i've ran them before more noise then tone. i would see what the shop has in a non-factory muffler and run maybe 2inch duals

I dont know exactly how small your pocketbook is.. but the flowmasters only cost about $80 per muffler. Least for the regular 40 series.

well i got it done today me and my buddy did all of it this mornin. we just put straight pipes with 4" tips. so now i got true duals with just factory cats and 2 4" chrome rear-side exit tips. its got a nice rumble idling and not a bad sound runnin down the road but if i get on it, its loud as all get out, which sounds kinda cool but not like it would with 2 40's on it. just for personal reference has anyone had or heard of bad experiences with this setup, ie: computer problems, etc...?
