| A/C question 98 s10 2.2-- Cools great, but after several minutes (10-20) the compressor drops out. It will come back on eventually. I suspect a pressure cycling switch is bad. Here's the rub: I can only locate one apparent switch in the whole system--it is on the high side line between the condensor and the evaporator. Is this the only pressure switch? If so, can I change it without losing charge? Line doesn't look large enough to conceal a schraeder valve. Any help would be mucho apprecionado. |

| on those little s10's, the accumulator should be located behind the compressor if i remember right. that is a single line from the compressor to the dryer to the evaporator. your truck SHOULD have a low pressure switch somewhere in the system but i cant for the life of me remember where it is located it. sorry. try tapping on the high pressure switch like someone said earlier. you can also take the plug off of it and insert a paper clip to complete the circuit to see if that will reactivate the compressor. if it does, youll know that it will be a bad switch. |
