deer vs. chevy haha

my dad smacked a deer today on the way out of town. woke up and couldn't stop laughing when i got outside. being a 92, were not sure if insurance will cover the damage so i might have my next project. i've been wanting to paint his truck for awhile anyways. he was only doing 25 otherwise it might have been worse. the last pic is deer saliva on the window.

a buddy of mine yesterday told me that he saw a monster 8 ptr get hit yesterday. said it flew a good ways in the air and spun around and flipped and what not before landing, and gettin up then gettin away with a broke leg. his dad wne tin the woods to find it, presumably to to snap it's neck so it wouldnt have to pretty much limp around waitin to die

My uncle died from a deer when he hit it. The deer hit the front and went through the windshield, hooves first and snap his neck in half. His son had some serious damage but he was okay. SO be careful when you see a deer

yeah, he was going slow otherwise it would have been in his lap. got the estimate today from the local shop.....drum roll please.......1655.99. 550 of that is labor alone. he'll be lucky if the insurance company thinks the truck is worth that much without the damage.

Walwart sells deer warning wistles that you can mount on the front of your vehicle. I narrowly missed a buck one night and thereafter put one on each vehicle. One day I saw a deer running toward the road and my car. It did a 180 and headed back across the field so I guess they work.

Those things really dont work worth a dang. The majority of my family had them on their vehicles at one point and they still hit deer. My dad 2 in one week!
They're really all hype... I've never had them on my truck and I've never hit a deer. Had a few close calls but no connections. *knock on wood*
Deer are totally unpredictable... some run across, some change their mind and run back, some run straight down the road in front of you! Its all up to them... its got nothing to do with the little "whistles" I guarantee you.

BTW... MS, sorry to see your dad had some bad luck! Thats some decent damage there. I'd believe the $1650 pricetag.....

Lift the truck, so you will go over them not them over you.

no, we never did find the deer, it would have been a real tender doe if we did. were going to get another estimate this morning, if it's around the same price i'll end up doing the work. i can get the parts real cheap at my local junkyard. thinking of painting the truck neon green and lowering it or something of the sort since it's only 2 wheel drive. j/k i wouldn't do that to a chevy. i have never tried the whistles, i guess they would sorta be like a dog whistle if they work.
