Performance

I have about $2,300 coming my way here soon, I have a 4.3L V6 and I wanna make it perform well and sound good. Does anyone have any sugestions on what to do? Ive looked for headers and exhaust system's but from what I can tell...they dont make performance headers for V6's. Or do they? I cant find any...
Any suggestions would help, thanks.

P.S. Im not looking to do any cosmetics to it, I want it to perform well before looking good. Also, I cant get anything that will viod my extended warranty. Again thanks.

ill tell you now that there wont be alot that you can do that that wont void that warranty. any kind and i do mean any kind of performance upgrade takes life out of any vehicle. that includes headers and aftermarket exhaust.

Thats what I was worried about, and it pisses me off, I bought the truck planning on doing stuff to it. But seeing how im paying an extra hmm $4000 for the extended warranty, I dont think ill mess with it. But an exhaust system shouldnt viod it. Ive read on Gibson's website it wont...am I wrong?

cant tell you for sure. might be up to GM to decide. my exhaust man down here can do me work that i know for a fact that GM wont warranty and is illegal is some states and some counties. most of the time, if not all, they will not warranty work that you do. i know that i can take a warranty vehicle to several different places as long as they are GM certified. dont take all this to heart, im not positive. you might wait for Larry to answer this, he used to own a muffler shop and he might know for sure.

I appreciate you help and stuff, I think im going to put some money into a decent sound system and an alarm system. And save some for the high *** payments I have lol
Theres this place called Rebel Mufflers that I think do GM certified work, so im going to have to go check that place out.
Where in Texas are you? Im in South Austin

I was also thinking, Is a 4.3L V6 really worht putting money into? Or should I save all of my money to put a bigger/better engine into it later on down the road?

my fatherinlaw has a 4.3 vortec in a 95 4 wheel drive and that thing will move great with it being just stock. it really all depends on how far you want to go with it. you can easily build up the v6 with a few dollars and add a few more ponies to have fun with but if you want to get serious and add at least 75 to 100, you might want to choose a different avenue. do you have an s10 or is it full size?? the weight of the vehicle is going to be a major determining factor in selection for you.

you have a full size truck so it is going to require more power to move the extra weight. its all in what you want to do.
