s 10 whining sound

i have a chevy s 10 crew cab,and it makes a whining sound in the rear end, like the driveshaft or rear differential.it does it in nuetral and in gear, and all various speeds. it also sounds like the rear tires

Could be rear dif problems check to see if it is wet at the pinion seal where the driveshaft goes into the dif if so it could have leaked enough to cause damage

if it does it in nuetral with the truck not moving, i dont believe that it is going to be a rear drivetrain problem. have to pinpoint your problem a little bit more to be able to diagnose it right
