88 Chevy Cheyenne Needs Transmission

Hello Forum Folks. Just picked up this 88 Cheyenne K1500 4X4 with a V8 5.7 Liter engine. It can't go faster than 25 miles an hour. Need to replace the transmission. Where can I find a reliable source for rebuilt transmissions? Doesn't matter which state, I'll ship.

Local Tranny Shop. If you have any kind of local drag strip or mud hole you can surely find a reputable shop near you.

Thanks. Slight problem, though. I'm in The Bahamas. I need to find an outfit that can ship to Florida. From there I can put in a boat. I'm also worried I'll get the wrong transmission and have to start all over again. What's the difference between the 700R4 and the 4L60?

4l60e is electronic, 700 is not. Other than that it is the same thing. As for the shipping i'm not to familiar with florida, but jegs or summit could help you out. They offer new in the box replacements.
